Silviculture

The research area of the Professor of Silviculture covers the fundamentals and methods of forest renewal and silviculture, and forest ecology and physiology of forest trees. The associated targets of research shall be natural and artificial forest renewal, seed crops of forest trees, growing of planting stock and tending of young stands, and the early development of tree stands. The practical field of application shall include silviculture recognising the different forms of forest use and their environmental effects.
