The research area of the Professor of Forest Genetics covers the genetic structure of tree stands and tree species, and the interaction between forest utilisation and the genetic structure of forests, the genetic diversity of forest trees and the mechanisms maintaining it, the genetic adapting of trees to environmental factors and to the changes in these factors, interactions with other organisms, the genetic control of adapting properties and yield properties, and applications of molecular genetics.
