NEW (14.12.2010): Photoalbum
ABSTRACT BOOK (pdf) now available!
Dr John Derome (1947-2010) had over a forty-year career as a research scientist in the Finnish Forest Research Institute. His research area covered a wide range of forest soil science, including studies on the soil effects of prescribed burning, fertilization, liming and air pollutants. He was also a dedicated member of international ICP-Forests monitoring community.
In the memory of John Derome, we will arrange a seminar on the 30th of November, 2010 in Rovaniemi, Finland (Rovaniemi Map Service). The seminar will focus on the scientific work in which John was involved during his career - not forgetting the immemorial moments which we have shared with him.
We have three main themes in the seminar:
I Domestic cooperation
II Finnish-Norwegian-Russian cooperation
III ICP-Forests/Forest Focus/FutMon cooperation.
One-day seminar will include invited oral presentations, a poster session and a banquet. The abstracts of the seminar will be published in Metla's Working papers (Working Papers of the Finnish Forest Research Institute). Both online (pdf) and paperback versions of the abstracts will be available.
