Seminar on forest regeneration and management in Salla 29–30 September, 2009

Metla and the NORFOR-network, which is a Nordic platform for borderless forest research in northern Fennoscandia, will arrange a seminar on forest regeneration and management in Salla, Finnish Lapland, 29–30 September, 2009.

The themes of the seminar are:

• Seed questions in forest regeneration
• Natural regeneration of Scots pine
• Direct seeding
• Site preparation
• Forest damage
• Interplay between forestry and reindeer husbandry.

The seminar day is an indoor event in Sallatunturi tourist centre in southern part of Salla municipality and the second day is an outdoor excursion in Naruska, North-East Salla.

Working language of the seminar is English.
