Travel

Participants will be responsible for their travel to the conference venue. We have not arranged any transportation from Helsinki to Hämeenlinna nor from H ämeenlinna center to Aulanko. Busses and trains to Hämeenlinna go frequently. Eg. the Inter-City train from Helsinki to Hämeenlinna takes an hour and costs about €20.

A bus from Hämeenlinna center to Aulanko (meeting venue), which is about 5 km, goes twice in an hour and comes straight to the hotel. Of course taxi is one good option from Hämeenlinna city to Aulanko.

 

How to get to Hämeenlinna: take a bus from Helsinki-airport to Helsinki main railway station. Take a train to Hämeenlinna, trains to Hämeenlinna go frequently.

Eg. the Inter-City train from Helsinki to Hämeenlinna
(http://www.vr.fi/heo/eng/index.html) takes an hour and costs about €20.

 

"For late comers there is a bus that leaves from the Helsinki airport at 23.10 from bay 13, International terminal and is in Hämeenlinna at 00.15, the next one leaves at 0.15. If you check our pages at the link "Matkahuolto" (bus timetables) you will find
it and other connections there. Sharing a taxi might also be one option, although Hämeenlinna is about 100 km away."

 

Accommodation

Conference participants need to reserve accommodation themselves. Accommodation is not included in the conference fee. Special prices have been negotiated with three hotels in Hämeenlinna. The special prices are valid if you use the conference reservation code “Cost E33” and reserve your room by the date mentioned below each hotel.

 

ATTENTION: When reserving your room at the hotels, please send your reservation through e-mail to the hotel in question.  If you use the hotels' web pages for reservation, it does not go through and you will probably get an answer "full".  Also, do not forget to mention "COST E33".

 

The conference will take place in the Spa Hotel Rantasipi Aulanko. Hotels Cumulus and Emilia are situated in the centre of City of Hämeenlinna and the distance to Aulanko is 5 km. A bus from these hotels takes you straight to Spa Hotel Rantasipi Aulanko twice an hour.
