The 26th Session of the Working Party will be organized in Oulu, Finland, 19-20 August 2008. An in-congress study tour will be on 21 - 22 August.

How to get to Oulu: |
Oulu is the capital of northern Finland. The Oulu Region has about 200,000 inhabitants and it is the fastest growing region in Finland. Oulu has an international airport and there are about 20 flights to and from Helsinki each working day. The flight time is about one hour. Buses are available from the airport. The easiest way is by taxi – the cost is about 15 - 20 Euro from the airport to the city centre.

Meeting participants need to reserve accommodation themselves. Organizers have made preliminary booking in Hotel Lasaretti at special price (see registration form). The accommodation includes breakfast. To reserve accommodation please contact directly the Hotel Lasaretti.

Lunch will be served during the session, also tea and coffee during the breaks. Meals and refreshments mentioned in programme are sponsored by local organizers. If needeed, there is a large selection of local restaurants available in centre of Oulu city (by participants own expence).

Study tour: |
A two-day study tour is planned on 21st – 22nd August to visit examples of forestry, peatlands, natural park management and tourism. The provisional study tour programme.

Climate: |
In August, the daily temperature can vary from chilly rain to a warm summer day (weather forecast and current conditions, check: Finnish Meteorological Institute). There will be a two-day study tour during the meeting, so please bring with you good walking shoes and something warm to wear.

Time in Finland is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Participants should check with the Embassy of Finland in their country of origin to determine whether a visa is required to them to enter Finland.
