International Symposium Organized by Green Belt Life Nature Project

The flames burned brightly in Fire and Forest!

The symposium brought together 58 participants from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia.
The audience heard fifteen interesting presentations of prescribed fire as a management tool within protected areas of Fennoscandian forests. The first symposium day pointed out differences between countries considering the management of fires. The second day gave a comprehensive review on the research on forest fires and brought up guidelines for future studies. Altogether, the symposium was very successful!
