Vantaa Research Centre of Finnish Forest Research Institute arranges a scientific seminar Social sciences in forestry 13-14, May, 2003 in Gustavelund Tuusula.

The purpose of the seminar is to offer a forum for those researchers and students interested in social scientific research in forestry and environmental sciences, such as forest and other resource economics, sociological studies in forestry and environmental sciences, as well as forest technology.

Seminar consists mainly of voluntary presentations of participants (max. 20 min + 10 min discussion). The seminar language is Finnish but presentations in English are also encouraged. (Keynote lecture and panel discussion are in Finnish). A more detailed program is available later.

The conference hotel Gustavelund
Surrounded by nature, and situated in a tradition-rich cultural landscape, the hotel is ideally situated. Helsinki city centre is a half hour drive away and the airport takes only 15 minutes to reach. More information of the venue at http://www.gustavelund.fi/english_1.htm.

Seminar fee:
Participation fee 150 euro (double room) and 180 euro (single room) covers accommodation (incl. breakfast) and meals (two lunches, supper and coffee during breaks), and bus transportation from Forest House (Metsätalo, Unioninkatu 40 A) to Gustavelund and back. Participation fee should be paid when checking in the hotel.
