The Punkaharju Unit is internationally famous for its research on forest genetics, and practical applications of forest tree improvement methods. Management of exotic tree species and special trees is also studied at the research unit.
The Punkaharju, which include research and nature conservation areas, provide visitors with an insight into forest research and its results while at the same time enjoying the beautiful lake views and green forested landscapes.
