J software for forest modeling and planning

J is a general purpose program for different forest modeling and analysis purposes.

J contains e.g. a linear programming module and simulator language for defining forest simulators. The J software will replace the old linear programming software JLP and the more recent Jakta software. The linear programming modules of J have already larger functionality than JLP but they are not as well tested. J does not yet have all the functionality contained in the the Jakta software.

J is freely avaible for teaching and research. Commercial use or use in practical forest planning requires commercial license and annual license fees.

Jakta

Jakta is a proto version for the new J software. The current version of the Jakta manual shows what kind of properties will be available in J (e.g. for stem curves).

Jakta is freely available from the authori but it is no more developed and supported (except for simple bug corrections).

JLP - linear programming

JLP is an old linear programming package for solving Model I type forest management planning and conventional LP problems.
