The EMMA project

Putting European Mammals on MAps

The EMMA project was begun in 1988. The aim of the project is to prepare distribution maps for all terrestrial mammal species occuring in Europe on a 50 km UTM grid.

Data are gathered by national coordinators in each country and passed to three regional coordinators. Data processing is carried out at the IKC-Natuurbeheer, Wageningen, The Netherlands.
