Solböle research forest represents hemi boreal and south boreal forests in the southernmost coastal region of Finland, 130 km south-west of Helsinki. The forests are managed according to a variety of management schedules and they include semi-natural reference areas. Long-term experiments include permanent sample plots for the growth and yield of domestic and exotic species and broad-leaved species typical of the hemi-boreal zone, genetic diversity of tree species, and monitoring of forest condition. |
