Muhos Research Forest

Muhos research forest represents mid-boreal peatland and upland forests including a variety of management schedules. The area is located in the western part of Finland, 40-50 km east of the city of Oulu. Field research includes experiments and monitoring on the nutrient status of drained peatland sites and impact of fertilisation on the stands, tending of sapling stands, forest succession on coast-line forest, and the ecological aspects of forest regeneration.
