Lapinjärvi research forest represents south boreal forests. Lapinjärvi is located 100 km east of Helsinki and it includes a variety of management schedules and seminatural reference areas. Field experiments represent growth and yield studies on permanent sample plots in managed and semi-natural stands, regeneration and management of aspen, ecological impacts of grazing by moose, deer, and hare, and the control of rot fungi in spruce stands.
