If you are a student looking for a temporary placement or training in Metla, it is strongly recommended to you first find out a possible funding channel for your stay, because Metla's funding possibilities are very limited. We frequently advertise in our intranet, names of students - Finnish and foreign - who are willing to work temporarily in Metla, but in practice they can only seldom be employed due to lack of funding. If, instead, your funding is already arranged, the possibilities to become a trainee in one of Metla's more than 100 challenging research projects are very good.
There are several fellowship/grant programmes that enhance the mobility of students. You will find information on these exchange programmes usually from your university/college/school or by contacting your national centre for international mobility (for European students, see e.g. ACA member organisations). Information will be offered also at the Finnish Centre for International Mobility, CIMO.
Metla's most foreign trainees have been funded by European Union's Leonardo programme.
