In what manner do Finnish people engage in recreation outdoors?

Results of National Outdoor Recreation Demand Inventory (LVVI)

Did you know that

  • two out of three Finns participate in outdoor recreation at least once a week.
  • half of Finns live within 200 m of the forest closest to their home.
  • the closest forest for picking wild berries and mushrooms is found within a distance of 3.5 km on average from one's place of residence, and half of Finns live only one kilometre from a place suitable for berry and mushroom picking.
  • This and a great deal of other, similar information is based on the National Outdoor Recreation Demand Inventory (LVVI).
