Research activities
The Kannus Unit focuses on topics related to nature and forests in its home region, the Ostrobothnia area. The forests are characterised by a high proportion of young stands- and peatland forests and fragmented private ownership. The special features of the young soils along the west coast of Finland present an interesting challenge. The Kannus Unit´s research activities are effective and of high quality. The projects cover as well national and international aspects.
The researchers maintain close contacts with the information end users. The communication and information services play an active role.
