Abstract:

The fourth expert meeting on global forest inventories was held by FAO in collaboration with UN-ECE in Kotka 1-5 July 2002. Metla was responsible for thte technical arrangements of the meeting. The name of the consultation was "Global Forest Resources Assessments - Linking National and International Efforts" ("Kotka IV"). The consultation was attended by 58 participants from 32 countries.

The emphasis of the meeting was in conceptual and strategic issues and the Proceedings contains papers presented in plenary sessions, reports of working groups and summaries of voluntary papers.
