Statistical Yearbook of Forestry

Forest Statistical Bulletins Forest Finland in Brief

The new Statistical Yearbook of Forestry 2012 – now available!

The Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry 2012 offers a comprehensive picture of Finland’s forests, forestry livelihoods and forest-based industries. The Yearbook contains the key statistics on the entire forest sector, starting from forest resources and ending up with foreign trade in forest-related products, together with the most important international forest statistics. Statistics dealing with the forest environment, multiple uses of forests and environmental issues offer other aspects as well to the forest sector. The Statistical Yearbook of Forestry provides – in one compact package – the basic facts of the forest sector for research purposes, for example, and the essential data needed for the planning and implementation of forest and environmental policies.

The new yearbook addresses the major developments in the forest sector in 2011, with all figures and tables also in English. In addition to the latest data, the Yearbook also includes long-term series of various forest-related statistics, containing a total of almost 100 figures and 250 tables. This year, we have also added a separate chapter on the roundwood trade, including more detailed information on roundwood prices than previously. The chapter concerning forest resources contains the latest up-to-date information on Finnish forest resources by region, based on the 11th National Forest Inventory. At the beginning of the Yearbook, a summary is also provided of the key indicators of Finland’s forest sector as well as a diagram illustrating wood flows in 2011.

The Finnish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry has been published since the end of the 1960s. The book is an integral part of the Official Statistics of Finland (OSF).
