14:00 Departure from Tampere Hall to Savonlinna by bus

Travel distance 390 km

20:00 Welcoming address of a representative of the town of Savonlinna

Dinner in the Olavinlinna Castle

Visit to the Visitors Center of Linnansaari

National Park in Rantasalmi

Sightseeing by ship in the National Park; management of the Park

Visit to Rauhanlinna Villa Museum

Accommodation: Hotel Seurahuone, Savonlinna

Travel distance by bus 90 km and by ship 25 km

The Savonlinna Provincial Museum; old lake steamers

Trip by the steamer "Savonlinna" to Lake Pihlajavesi; combining of nature conservation, recreation and commercial use in the inlake archipelago.

Small scale family forestry and waterway wood transportation.

Visit to Forest Museum "Lusto".

Accommodation: Punkaharju State Hotel

Travel distance by ship 30 km and by bus 55 km.

The forest research activities of Punkaharju Research Station, Finnish Forest Research Institute.

Management of the Punkaharju Nature Conservation Area.

12:00 Departure to Helsinki by bus.

17:00 Arrival in Helsinki, end of the Excursion
