The practical training for forest specialists from ’Ladenso’ forest company was organized in Pitkäranta, the Republic of Karelia on the 7-8th of October, 2014. Vladimir Ananyev and Sergey Sinkevich told about the methods of selection of trees to be cut in selection and variable retention felling systems as well as in continuous forest management systems.

6. The MULTIEFFORT partner Pellervo Economic Research (PTT) has finalized the report on markets in berries, mushrooms and herbs in Northern Karelia and Kainuu, Finland as well as on the forest fire economics. The reports are published

6.06.2014. The science practical seminar ‘Forest certification and conservation of red-listed species in the forests of the Republic of Karelia’ was organized by the Forest Institute of Karelian Research Centre of RAS for the company ‘Investlesprom’. The results of the landscape ecological planning in MULTIEFFORT were presented by Andrey Gromtsev. Aleksey Kravchenko and Anna Ruokolainen made presentations on conservation of vascular plants, lichens and fungi. More information in Russian.

The meeting in the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Karelia. The perspectives of creation the nature conservation area on the Zaonezhje territory were discussed. The meeting was translated by federal radio programme 12.03.2014.

During the period from 9.06.2014 to 5.12.2014 Kauko Salo gave 109 interviews about mushroom and berry yields.
