Objectives

The idea of the project is to strengthen the human resources and capacities in forest policy and institutional development processes of selected Russian experts currently employed in the state forest sector both at strategic federal and regional levels in Northwest Russia. The project is aiming at the transfer of experiences and lessons learnt from other transition countries on relevant policy instruments and their impacts on regulatory framework and institutional development in those countries.

Realisation of the project

The project will be realised by selecting six Russian experts to study the situation in forest policy development in six new EU member countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Each expert will analyse one of the selected countries in a form of a case study. According to the project plan, work will be done in following phases:
