METLA Project 7034
The effect of removal of logging residues on forest regeneration
Duration: 1999-2002
Objectives
Effects of slash removal on forest regeneration. The amount of slash (logging residue) and it's variation remaining on regeneration areas are surveyed. The implementation and quality of soil preparation an forest regeneration at test plots with and without slash are studied, and regeneration results in practice in relation to slash amounts are compared. Research results can be utilised in the development of soil preparation methods and in the mechanisation of forest cultivation.
