Objectives

The aim of the study is to find solutions for the questions concerning the most important topics of natural regeneration of Scots pine and Norway spruce so that the regeneration methods are in control both in mineral and peat soils in Northern and Southern Finland.

This project plan is compounded of four separate sub-projects: 1) Natural regeneration of the most important tree species in Finland – review 2) Natural regeneration of peatland forests 3) Natural regeneration of Norway spruce 4) Preparatory cutting in the natural regeneration of Scots pine
