Research Programme: Renewing wood product value chains and timber procurement solutions


The main goals of the project are to find new business models, logistic solutions and technology innovations for improving the national timber procurement by means of increasing the timber volume, quality and cost-efficiency. Project consist three sub-projects: a) Operations models and the potential of delivery wood in timber procurement, b) Energy- and cost-efficient long-distance transport methods of timber, c) Intelligent and communicating forest machines for improving operators’ performance.
