Duration: 2008-2011   Keywords: entrepreneurship, forest service, forest worker, labor force, machine contractor, silviculture
Research Programme: Cost-efficiency and quality in silvicultural operations

Objectives

Project’s aim is to study the effects of seasonality in silvicultural operations on labour demand and supply. At first, the goal is to describe silvicultural task-specific monthly labour demands. Then, business concepts that make it possible to offer work for forest workers year-round are created by merging the demand figures. Altogether, the general aim is to improve the attractiveness of forestry as a sustainable employer.
