Duration: 2003   Keywords: climate change, dendrochronology, growth trends, growth variation, network co-operation, tree growth, tree-ring research laboratory

Objectives

The main objectives of the LUSTIA -project are 1) to advance the use of tree-ring data administeed by Metla and 2) to arrange better working conditions for carrying out tree-ring science in Metla. The targets will be realized running a combination of four subprojects. The main objective of the subprojects 1 (TREE-RING LABORATORIES) ja 2 ( TREE-RING ARCHIVE) is to produce qualified tree-ring data and to take responsibility for their availability and documentation. The target in the subproject 3 (GROWTH VARIATION) is to build from the data of the TREE-RING ARCHIVE and the annually collected data up-to-date time series describing climatic variations or effects of environmental factors. The rich information can be monitored and studied in the communications subproject 4 (LUSTIA INFO LAND), taking into consideration the user's desired level and special instructions.
