Metla Project 3376
Regeneration of spruce forests and vegetation diversity
Duration: 2003-2008
Keywords: forest management , natural regeneration, retention tree, scarification
Research project group:
Objectives
The aim is to study the effects of different forest management options on regeneration of the tree stand. The studied treatments include clear felling, gap felling, selection felling and retention felling with different retention levels. The effects of these treatments on biodiversity will also be studied. As indicators of biodiversity, CWD, epixylic species and understorey vegetation will be used. New study, with the aim to compare the effects of different soil preparation methods in regeneration fellings will be realized.
