METLA Project 3322
Technical and economical environment and logistics of regeneration
Duration: 2001
Keywords: regeneration, technology
Objectives
The objective of the research is to create scenarios for the environment of silvicultural operations and analyse the development possibilities in the 'worlds' of the scenarios. An aim is to study how to apply the principles of rationalisation, logistics, process management and organisation theory to the technical and economical development and quality management of silvicultural operations.
Results
Results included the future scenarios for the timber cultivation and literature analysis of the possibilities to improve cost-efficiency in silvicultural operations. According to the results biggest chances to improve the cost-efficiency is in organizing the work and in logistics, but mechanization and rationalization are also worth studying.
