Changing operational environment of wood procurement

Objectives

Target of the project is to create scenarios to understand the changes on the operating environment of wood procurement and how they affect to the organizing of the most important questions of the wood procurement. These scenarios are detailed to operational level, so that the most significant questions can be handled.

Results

Working group created six scenarios on the future of Finnish wood procurement. At the end these scenarios were evolved with help of the opinions of actors and interest groups in wood procurement business given in a public seminar. Final synthesis proposes important research and development topics. Some of these have already been taken under study in Metla and other research organizations. Following chapters show main targets for future research on wood procurement.
