[  Suomeksi  |  Objectives  |  Project leader  |  Researchers  |  Publications  |  Metla Research  ]

Duration: 2000-2006   Keywords: Heterobasidion, Hylobius, biomass, forest regeneration, forest residue, fuel properties, integrated pest management, pine weevil, reforestation, soil nutrition, soil preparation, storage
Research project group: Distinct projects - Forest-based enterprise and business activities

Objectives

The objectives of the projects are to give reliable information: on the management of fuelwood properties of logging residue in different recovery schedules; on the effects of residue recovery on soil preparation, forest regeneration, properties of forest soils and site productivity; how residue recovery will affect the occurence and damage caused by pine weevil (Hylobius abietis) and Heterobasidion annosum-fungi; and what economic effects residue recovery might have on the land owner.
