Metla Project 3266
Timber production possibilities on Finnish peatlands
Duration: 1999-2003
Keywords: MELA, peatlands, timber production possibilities
Research Programme: Ecologically and economically sustainable forestry on drained peatlands
Objectives
The project has three stages: 1. In 1999 the MELA model will be tested based on national timber production analysis. 2. In 2000-2002 the stand simulator of the MELA model will be adjusted together with the experts on peatlands. 3. In 2003 a new national round of timber production analysis will be completed together with the modellers.
Results
