Objectives

Forest Research Institute controls the trade of forest reproductive material in Finland by maintaining the official lists of the basic material in each category of origin. The task includes defining the basic requirements for each category as well as defining seed zones and utilization areas. Field inspections are done in regular intervals. FRI also participates in the coperation conserning international legal framework (EU, OECD) on the trade of forest reproductive material.
