Silviculture of hardwoods
Duration: 1992-1997
Keywords: birch, hardwoods, harvesting, regeneration, timber quality
Objectives
The aim of the research project is:
- to study the effects of the admixture of broadleaved trees on wood production in conifer-dominated stands - to study the meaning and value of broadleaved trees for biodiversity and multiple use of forestry - to develop growth models for structurally different mixed stands - to develop alternative silvicultural methods
