Forest Statistics Information Service

Welcome to discover the exciting world of forest statistics. In Finland, official forest statistics are compiled by the Forest Statistics Information Service (abbr. FSIS), a unit within the Finnish Forest Research Institute. Welcome to the FSIS's home page.

The mission of the FSIS is to provide decision-makers with consistent, reliable and up-to-date information about forestry and the forest industries in Finland, including the international context. The forest statistical data originate from the FSIS's own statistical enquiries, as well as from external statistical authorities and organisations in the forest sector (e.g. Statistics Finland, the Board of Customs and the Finnish Forest Industries Federation).
