COST E19 NATIONAL FOREST PROGRAMMES IN A EUROPEAN CONTEXT

30.6.2003. The final seminar of COST Action E19 will be held in Vienna, Austria, in 15-16 September 2003. See the short information brochure, the detailed programme and a map of BOKU. Deadline for registration is 31. July 2003. If you need further information contact Mr. Johannes Voitleithner.

6.5.2003. Unlike the advance notice from the COST secretariat, it has approved the final seminar of COST E19 to be arranged in Vienna, September 15-16, 2003. The seminar will take place in the premises of the "Universitaet fuer Bodenkultur (BOKU") - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences. The final invitation including the registration form will be sent out at the end of June. The preliminary programme.

24.3.2003. The planned final seminar in Vienna, September 2003, has been cancelled due to budget cuts in the context of the reorganization of COST within the Sixth Framework Programme.

20.12.2002. The draft of the Interim Report on COST Action E19 "National Forest Programmes in a European Context" are invited to comment by mid- January 2003 at the latest via email to Peter Glück peter.glueck@boku.ac.at

20.9.2002. The Porto meeting in spring 2003 is cancelled due to budget cut of COST. The next meeting will be in Vienna, in 2003. The date will be announced later on.

18.5.2002 Due to the unforeseen severe limitations of COST funds the planned Porto meeting in autumn has to be postponed to spring 2003. The WG2 meeting will be in Sopron in June 28-29, 2002. If you need further information on Sopron meeting, please, contact local organiser Attila Lengyel or WG2 Chair Americo Mendes.

25.1.2002. The fifth meeting of COST Action E19 will be held in Savonlinna, Finland, April 4–6, 2002. The meeting begins with the international conference on the topic Cross- sectoral Policy Impacts on Forests. European Forest Institute (EFI) is the local organiser and accepts registrations. The deadline for registrations is March 1, 2002.

5.10.2001. Due to harmful overlap, the date of the fifth meeting of the Action in Savonlinna, Finland has been changed. The new date is April 4-6, 2002. Please, update your diary accordingly.

24.9.2001 Dr. Ine Neven from Netherlands was elected as Chairperson of the Working Group 1 in the 4th meeting of Action in Oslo, Norway, on 20-22 September, 2001.

20.6.2001 Due to personal reasons professor Heiner Schanz has resigned as the leader of Working Group 1 in the COST Action E19. Heikki Pajuoja is acting as interim chair until the new chair will be elected in the next meeting in Oslo Norway, 13-15 September 2001.

30.5.2001 Frank Hoffman's and Bernd Markus Liss's research paper on the analysis & assessment of the German NFP process presented in the Aberdeen meeting in March 29th - 31st 2001.

14.5.2001 Professor Americo M.S.Carvalho Mendes from Portugal was elected as Chairperson of the Working Group 2 in the 3rd meeting of Action in Aberdeen, Scotland, on 30-31 March, 2001.

14.5.2001 The following International Conference might be of interest for COST E19 members, in particular for those of Working Group 2: Financial Instruments of Forest Policy, 17-20 June 2001 Rovaniemi, Finland.

6.12.2000
Due to personal reasons professor Willi Zimmermann has resigned as the leader of Working Group 2 in the COST Action E19. Peter Glück is acting as interim chair until the new chair will be elected in the next meeting in Aberdeen Scotland, 28-30 March 2001.

A Call for Papers - Special Issue of Forest Policy and Economics Dedicated to COST Action E19

The Work Plan (1999-2003) for the Action was approved in the 2nd Management Committee meeting in Freiburg, on 20-21 March, 2000.

Dr. Heikki Pajuoja from Finland was elected as Vice-chairperson of the Action in the 2nd Management Committee meeting in Freiburg, on 20-21 March, 2000. Dr. Pajuoja is the head of the Vantaa Research Center at the Finnish Forest Research Institute (Metla).

27.11.1999
The Steering Committee had its first meeting. The Final Draft Work Plan for the Action was prepared to be approved in the next MC meeting 21 March, 2000.

1st Call for proposals for Short-Term Scientific Missions was opened. It ends by 15 March, 2000.

18.10.1999
Professor Peter Glück from Austria was elected as Chairperson of the Action in the 1st Management Committee meeting 18-19 Oct, 1999. Professor Glück is the head the Institute of Forest Sector Policy and Economics.
