Abstract: The document is the National Forest Programme
for Finland until 2010. In February 1998 during the final stages
of the total reformation of forest legislation in Finland the
Government decided to initiate the drafting of a National Forest
Programme. Council of State approved the programme in 4 March
1999. This programme is designed to meet the demands set by international
forest policy, but it will also have far-reaching effects in Finland.
The programme's aims are directed towards securing employment
and income based on forestry, assuring the diversity and health
of forests and, finally, allowing people the special kind of recreation
and leisure that only the forests can offer. Download version
