Abstract: The document includeses the statement of EIA
group of national forest programme appointed by Ministry of Agriculture
and Forestry in 12 March 1999. The group was comprised of professionals
from various interest groups, and finished his work in 1 October
1999. Main topics are as follows the ecological risks of increasing
felling and forest ditching are important to decrease in implementation
and monitoring the programme; benefits of increasing wood use
in energy production are greater than disadvantages; the programme
does not have significant effects on timber supply; reasearch
concerning economic effects of forest policy means, especially
forestry extension and forest management planning, should be increased;
employment effects are over-estimated; reasearch concerning regional
economy and employment should be increased.
