Editorial

Forest Research in Finland has long traditions, and with pride I can say that it has greatly contributed to the strong state of the Finnish economy. This has made it possible for a small and rather poor country of the 19th century, to emerge in the 21st century as one of the advanced western democracies with a high level of education and general well-being.
