Metla’s Joensuu Research Unit is offering a permanent position as Business Economics Researcher
in the research field of forest based products in climate change.
The major research duties are in business economics research projects focusing on the identification of competitive advantages for wood products and related value chains through durability, cascading and carbon sequestration properties. Other research duties will include analysis of policies related to wood product carbon sequestration by application of models to measure the substitution and income impacts from the use of wood modules and components in house construction. Research issues related to innovation and entrepreneurship policies as well as the carbon certification potential will be covered. The research tasks are integrated into Metla’s research programmes: 1) Cost Efficient Procurement, and 2) Utilization of Roundwood and Functioning of Forest Ecosystems and Use of Forest Resources in Changing Climate (www.metla.fi/tutkimus/index-en.htm).
The applicant should hold a DSc, PhD or MSc degree in environmental economics or other appropriate research disciplines, and have a proven track record of research in business economics. Experience in the value chain approach of forest economics research is appreciated. The applicant should have fluent English language skills and skills and interests for communication, networking and reporting in international scientific communities. |
