The Finnish Forest Research Institute ( Metla), Joensuu Research Unit is offering a permanent position as Business Economics Researcher
in the research field of environmental performance and value of forest based products.
The major research duties are in business economics research projects focusing on the identification of value, competitive advantages, utilization potential and business models of environmental performance for wood products and related value chains. The major research tasks are integrated into Metla’s research programme “Cost Efficient Procurement and Utilization of Roundwood”. The other research duties are in the economic analyses of carbon sequestration issues and policies related to forest-based products integrated into the programme “Functioning of Forest Ecosystems and Use of Forest Resources in Changing Climate”. The applicant should hold a D.Sc, Ph.D. or M.Sc. with major degrees in business economics or other appropriate research discipline. Records of research in business economics and experience in the value chain approach of forest sector are appreciated. The applicant should have fluent written and verbal skills in English, and interests and skills for communication, networking and reporting with interest groups of forest sector and international scientific community.
