I would like information regarding planting of hardwoods around existing agricultural lands. There are many items that need to be looked at but my emphasis is on if it is economically worthwhile. I need expected growth charts up to about 100 years or so...the longer the better for Black Walnut, Red Oak, and White Oak. It has been impossible to locate any information regarding these trees or the trees growth here in North Idaho. Value at maturity, expected rotation times of the trees and net present value at the year of rotation of crop, anything that would justify financially the planting of additional trees. This could be any cost benefit analysis...etc. Do you have a cost analysis regarding yearly or front-end cost for the prospective planter of Black Walnut, Red or White Oaks? I am interested in contrasting this information with the shorter rotation of Hybrid Poplars. I understand the rotation is about 10-20 years but do not know. If you have any information on these trees and how to justify their planting on a value added economic scheme I sure would appreciate your sending it on by e-mail or regular mail.
