Gentlemen,
As a laboratory and food processing pilot plant within the local agriculture department,
we are highly concerned about the
Miconia calvenscens invasion in Tahiti and a few other islands. Our other concern within
our activity is also to find ways of putting this plant into good use. We only know about
its wood that may be processed into matches. Do you know about any other uses of Miconia
such as stems, leaves, seeds, bark ... extracts that might be of use in food,
nutraceutical, cosmetic, medicinal, coloring or other uses. Any litterature reference on
this subject would be very welcome. I would be very grateful of your help.
