Please can someone assist me with some information on Araucaria araucana, a species with which I have little experience. I am concerned at the health of a specimen within an peri-urban area, about 80 years old. Leaves in excess of two years old have turned brown, current years growth is still very strong and there is a considerable amount of epicormic growth arising at the sites of old pruning wounds. Is this an indication that the tree is in declining health or is it typical for the species at this age. I look forward to some help. Mike Render Senior Lecturer in Forestry
