About a month or so ago, someone asked about unmanned airborne vehicles for doing remote sensing work in the tropics. I saw such a UAV this week at the 1st International Conference on Geospatial Information in Forestry and Agriculture. It has an 11 foot wing span, weighs 100 pounds with a 25 pound payload. It has a 2-4 hour endurance and is guided by GPS autopilot.
