INDUSTRIAL POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AT FORINTEK

Prospective candidates are invited to apply for an NSERC
(Natural Science & Engineering Research Council of Canada) Industrial
Postdoctoral Fellowship supported by Forintek Canada Corp., Canada's
Wood Products Research Institute. The successful candidate will work
in the Resource Assessment & Utilization Group, and will play a key
role in a multidisciplinary project involved in growth/yield and
computer modelling/simulation. The successful candidate must have
proven experience in growth/yield, stand dynamics, and computer
modelling and simulation. Basic knowledge of wood characteristics and
wood products will be an assett, but will not be a prerequisite. It
is important that the candidate is able to work in a team environment
and communicate with scientists of different fields.

The selection of the candidate for the industrial postdoctoral
fellowship is made on a competitive basis by NSERC. In accordance to
the NSERC requirements, only Canadian citizens and permanent
residents are eligible for the fellowship. The successful candidate
will be offered a 2-year appointment as Forintek employee. The salary
of the postdoctoral fellow is from $37,000 to $42,000/year plus
fringe benefits, commensurating with qualifications and experience.
After the termination of the fellowship, other opportunities may
exist, depending on the performance of the fellow and the
availability of the funding. We also offer an attractive research
environment which has interactions not only with internal and
external scientists of different fields but also with the forest
industry and government agencies in Canada. Forintek Canada Corp. is
an equal opportunity employer.

Qualified candidates are invited to submit their resumes and a list
of three references to
