However to seek a total halt to cutting is possibly counterproductive. Certainly some of these should be left unmanaged but surely some can be managed sympathetically (read sustainably) which would include some harvesting. The campaign, including the slogan could easily be misconstrued and the general public would be confused. Some may think a 20 year old forest is old ( to a 9 year old child it is !! ) If your campaign promoted "Adopt an ancient forest" and got people to become actively involved this might lead to better understanding of the issues. The general public need education (explain the views from both sides and then they can decide for themselves) rather than blasting them with various campaigns . We all need to work towards this even though we may have conflicting viewpoints.
