Blueberries are not legumes. They are of the family Ericaceae, not >Leguminaceae. Nor have I ever seen the genus Vaccinium or the family >Ericaceae implicated as N fixers. > I don't think that a plant has to be a member of Leguminaceae to fix nitrogen. Kentucky coffeetree, once a member of the Leguminaceae, subfamily Caesalpinoideae, now a seperate family Caesalpinaceae, fixes nitrogen. And, perhaps more noticible are some of the Alders, members of the Betulaceae, that fix nitrogen. Perhaps a true plant taxonomist can come to my rescue. What is the most recent classification of Robinia psuedoacacia, Gymnocladus dioicus and Gleditsia triacanthos?
