I am pleased to announce that the home page and main programme pages (policy and planning, forest resources, forest products) of the FAO Forestry Internet site are now available in French and Spanish. These pages complement the English versions that are already in place. The addition of the French and Spanish versions greatly facilitates access by our constituents to the large volume of information available on the FAO Forestry Internet site, much of which is already available in multiple language versions. Examples of information available in multiple language versions include the award-winning State of the World's Forests 1997; FAO, Forests and Forestry; Unasylva, etc. The Internet addresses for the FAO Forestry home page are as follows: English http://www.fao.org/WAICENT/faoinfo/forestry/forestry.htm French http://www.fao.org/WAICENT/faoinfo/forestry/debut.htm Spanish http://www.fao.org/WAICENT/faoinfo/forestry/inicio.htm Please note that there are NO spaces in these internet addresses. If your email program breaks the address onto two lines, please ensure that no spaces are added when you copy the address to your Internet browser. Regards, Stephen A.
