I completely concur with Brooks' & Stewarts' contention that man is not separate from nature. We are a part of nature and everything we do is part of nature (e.g. leather is no more "natural" than vinyl). It seems we, as forest researchers etc., are very good at understanding the technical intricacies of our disciplines but largely ignorant of the value dimensions of those disciplines. As a result, arguments that, on the surface, appear to be based solely on scientific fact are, more often than not, based on science that is intertwined with the originator's personal values. ********************************************************************** Mark Robson, Ph.D. Candidate Faculty of Forestry, University of Toronto 33 Willcocks St. Toronto, Ontario, CANADA, M5S 3B3 Phone: 416-285-6574 FAX: 416-285-6574 E-mail: mark.robson@utoronto.ca **********************************************************************
